In a joint statement yesterday State Senator Steve Oroho and Assemblymen Parker Space and Hal Wirths called on Governor Murphy to reverse his opposition to holding out door high school graduations. The three 24th district state legislators agreed safe responsible out door high school graduations should be an option for New Jersey's high school seniors. Space said: "If people can responsibly walk in our state parks and forests, then graduating seniors should be able to walk and celebrate their accomplishments the same way. Part of graduation is marking a young persons achievements and their passage from youth to adulthood. I believe they can do so safely and responsibly with family and friends." Assemblyman Wirths said: "We tell young people if they do the right thing and follow the rules, they'll be successful and their maturity will signal greater trust. I can't think of a better way to reward graduates hard work with a little more trust and guidance from my generation to celebrate their graduation." Senator Oroho said: "Don't let fear steal the senior year. We believe reasonable concerns can be met and overcome by prudent planning and we implore our governor to trust our graduates and those who have loved and nurtured them over the years. Let them walk into a bright future free from fear and full of pride."
