My Epic Weekend In Pictures: Fun, Food, Sunburn And Sunsets

This weekend was definitely Epic at times. My every other weekends when I don't get Awesome Girlfriend Megan are definitely not as fun as my weekends when I do get her, but we always make the most out of the moments we can get together. I was able to meet up with her in Sparta for a couple of nice walks, Awesome Girlfriend Megan loves getting her steps in and getting love from her watch that counts the steps. This weekend we were able to enjoy some more of our favorite things as reopening in New Jersey progresses. Getting to go to the pool and tiki bar at Minerals Sports Club for my first time all summer were definitely some major highlights.

Thursday night was the very first night they reopened at Minerals Sports Club, and I was there immediately to reintegrate. It felt great seeing friends I haven't seen in months. Some noticed I may have lost a few pounds over the past few months. I say loud and proud the physical therapy at Trinity Rehab in Sparta has been a godsend for me. Continuing progress on the pinched nerve in my caboose, and also getting to run on the Alter G Treadmill. I'm now running at 91% of my body weight on that state of the art treadmill, and successfully ran a 5K yesterday on it. We will take the victories when we can get them, that's for sure!

Friday night I was able to see some of our besties at Minerals Sports Club. Great Friday night, beautiful summer weather at Tiki with the sounds of the nearby pool that sounds like a waterfall, all while laughing with your friends. Awesome. It was great to see our besties Jasen + Brendan, Natalee, Steve and Spoon. Terrific Friday night. One of those Friday nights where you look up, see how late it is and just say "whoops, time for me to go home and get to bed." Time indeed can fly when you're having fun.

Saturday morning I was able to meet up with Awesome Girlfriend Megan for a walk in Sparta at White Lake Field. We absolutely love it there, and everyone we see always takes social distancing seriously. Meg and I always admire the dedication of the runners who seem to run there no matter what the weather conditions may be. God bless them!

Saturday afternoon, we were able to do an in person happy hour with our Irish Cottage Inn friends who we've been doing the virtual Happy Hours these past few months. Even better getting to see them in person and laugh. It's so much easier to laugh with your friends without worrying about slow internet, everyone losing audio because only one can speak at a time, etc. There is phenomenal value in the virtual happy hours don't get me wrong, but after all this time it was fantastic to see people in person at a social distance.

Also, my bestie Damian there pointed me out to a couple of 2020 Seniors who work there who I have a Senior Shout Out to last week on the radio. They thanked me in person for the shout out, and that was honestly the most rewarding part of my weekend.

Saturday night back to Tiki at Minerals Sports Club on my way home, where I got a couple of terrific sunset photos. Not to brag, but my sunset photos where the sun is basically kissing the pool tend to be rather Epic. It's not due to my talent whatsoever, it's just a beautiful view of the sun kissing the water. You could probably get a good picture of it even with a flip phone, LOL.

Sunday morning I was able to go for another walk with Meg in Sparta. I felt AWFUL. Meg and I agreed to meet at 9am. I for some dumb reason forgot and thought we were scheduled to meet at 9:30am. I'm almost never late for anything it drives my OCD extremely crazy, so then when I'm late for poor Meg you can imagine how upset I am with myself. I was able to haul @$$ barely under the speed limit and get there by 9:15, so at least she wasn't there all alone for too too long. We had a great walk together.

Sunday afternoon cookout with besties Jasen + Brendan. I was also able to see their kitten Ally who we recently cat-sat and had at my place, and wow I can't even believe how much I missed her. You may call me crazy because she's a cat, but I honestly think she remembers me! The second I walked in she squeaked and couldn't wait to kiss me and cuddle with me. Simply amazing. It was great. I think she remembered how much fun she had visiting Uncle Steve.

Monday was a vacation day I had to burn before June 30th. I made the most of it by getting some great physical therapy and running at Trinity Rehab in Sparta for my weekly Monday appointment. I then went to the pool at Minerals Sports Club and it felt great to relax in the sun. Despite putting on sunscreen, I woke up a little on the pink side this morning. All good. It's my fault. I bought sunscreen a couple weeks ago, brought it in from my car but for some reason my dumb@$$ put it near my other sunscreens from last year that are probably expired with my luck. Whoops. I think this week I'll just start over, throw out all my sunscreens and buy a new one so it doesn't happen to me again.

I'm filling in for Steve Andrews on our morning show today and Wednesday, so this recap is a little shorter than usual, lol. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. We had a wonderful weekend. I hope you had a terrific weekend too. Time to start planning next weekend, and with it being Fourth Of July Weekend, well it better be Epic!
