My Epic Weekend In Pictures: Fun Outside Dodging The Rain

This Weekend was definitely Epic and memorable. We enjoyed adventures in Vernon, Sparta and Franklin. While we may not travel as far as we used to during my Epic Weekend In Pictures, it's so important to still make every minute count. Life is precious. Weekends when I don't have Meg are of course tough, but fortunately I'm lucky to have wonderful friends take custody of me. We always have plenty of laughs.

Friday at lunch I felt like getting spoiled, so I tried buffalo wings from Granny's for my first time and they were great. I asked my bestie Carrie "I hope they hurt me a little!" They had a decent kick for sure. Great start to my Epic Weekend. Friday night I hung out with besties Jasen, Brendan and Spooner. We watched this show called "Below Deck." It's a show where rich people rent a yacht for a week and have everything inclusive. The show showcases the crew that works with them for the week, and of course there was entertaining drama between the crew with occasional romances. I hate to admit how hooked I got on this show. It felt like I was watching a simply higher end version of Jersey Shore with all the drama. Comedy gold indeed. Then they let Ally my niece kitten out and I was able to play with her a little bit. Successful Friday night. We then agreed that Saturday we should spend some time at The Minerals pool. It had been far too long.

Saturday I was able to relax by the pool for probably 2 hours which was great, just enough time for my irish tail to get some color but not get crispy burnt. Great hanging with Jasen, Brendan and Spooner and laughing our troubles away. Great seeing friends by the pool on a gorgeous summer Saturday afternoon. Yes, I generously applied sunscreen on my irish tail too.

Saturday afternoon, time for the not so virtual now in person happy hour at The Irish Cottage Inn. It was great to see friends and relax. We had our share of laughs, especially when the rain storm started. We watched the clouds grow blacker and make their way all along up Route 23. We saw it coming. Then on a dime, rain storms started happening. Strong rain storms. INTENSE. We were happy to be under the tent, dry, with beverages. We met new friends as we were all trying to stay dry. It was fun to meet Brandon and Samantha, we always love making new friends.

Saturday night, back at Tiki Bar over at Minerals. Seeing Ken and Lisa for my first time in months was fantastic. Bartender buddy Natalee of course was making sure everyone had fun. Great to hang with friends and laugh. Successful Saturday day and night.

Sunday morning time to enjoy a little Bar Rescue for a few moments before showering up and meeting up with Awesome Girlfriend Megan for our lunch date. Earlier in the week, Meg asked if I could join her for a walk in Sparta. I offered up taking Meg out for a drink at Mohawk House after our walk. Meg immediately got excited and said we could skip the walk and just meet up for lunch in Sparta like we normally used to do. The patio at Mohawk House was beautifully set up, it was great to see our friend Steve there again. Meg and I are trying to support local whenever we can, especially now.

We got pizza, a caesar salad, and for beverages we did a Carton Brewing Mosaic IPA, and Meg did a "Pandemic Punch." Both of our drinks were very tasty. It was great to take Meg out on a date, especially there. 4 years ago that's where I took Awesome Girlfriend Megan on our first date.

Sunday afternoon I then had a grocery shopping fail. The quarter fell out of my key chain, so I could not get a grocery carriage at Shop Rite Of Sparta. I then switched to the carrying cart and adjusted successfully. After unpacking groceries, some friends asked if I could meet up with them at The Cottage. They didn't have to twist my arm. Great times.

Overall we had a wonderful weekend. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. I hope you had a terrific weekend too. Time to start planning next weekend - I'll be taking Awesome Girlfriend Megan back up to Boston and see my family!
