There will be Sussex County Miners baseball games this summer

One of the things I've always looked forward to every summer is throwing out the first pitch at a couple of Sussex County Miners games at Skylands Stadium. I went to my first baseball game with my dad at Shea Stadium in 1970. Even after all these years, going to a live baseball game is still a fun relaxing experience for me. If you've missed the fresh air, the crack of the bat and seeing a great catch in person here's some wonderful news. Professional baseball is returning to Sussex County this summer. The Sussex County Miners announced they will be part of a new 6 team league that will play a 32 game season this summer. The All American Baseball Challenge will have 6 teams playing out of 3 Frontier League Stadiums starting July 23rd. The Sussex County Miners and Skylands Cardinals will play at Sklands Stadium. The other teams in the league will be: The Rockland Boulders, New York Brave, New Jersey Jackals and Jersey Wise Guys. Miners owner Al Durso in a press release said: "We are excited to offer this level of baseball to our local communities, in the safety of outdoor venues in a socially distanced atmosphere, at a time when all minor league seasons have been cancelled.
