My Epic Weekend In Pictures: Gorgeous Pools, Sunsets, And Pet Success!

My Epic Weekend In Pictures started off rather quietly, but then started escalating quickly. I didn't even leave Vernon until Sunday afternoon for my goodbye beer with Awesome Girlfriend Megan, and even then we only ventured over to Franklin. Not a big travelling weekend for my Epic Weekend In Pictures, but we still made many fun memories with many laughs all along the way. We will start with Friday.

By Friday late afternoon I was a little tired from doing double duty, both filling in for Steve Andrews on the 102.3 WSUS morning show, and doing my afternoon show too. I was more than ready for a Happy Hour beer. I swung by and saw some of my dear friends at The Irish Cottage Inn, and we had a wonderful time laughing while busting on each other. Great times. Then Friday night I had a quiet night in watching NFL Network coverage of my New England Patriots watching Cam Newton's progress. I am not ashamed to admit, with my football addiction, even watching practice is fun for me. Then after the coverage stopped, I switched over to watch WWE Friday Night Smackdown. I don't watch wrestling too often, but it's a nice mental escape from the real world for me once in a great while. They did a great job with their setup trying to emulate a live experience as much as possible.

Saturday morning quickly became very productive. I was so happy at 7:43am to get a call from my friend Glenn The Handyman. I haven't seen him since probably two years ago when I was going through my #SteveWorldTour - homeless edition - that time I spent two weeks sleeping on friends couches because my floors had to be redone. Glenn The Handyman said he and his team still always listen to our radio station whenever they're in Sussex County. They were thinking about randomly texting me to say Hi and see how I was anyway, then they got a text from me asking for their repair help. They repaired my outdoor outlet, which is HUGE for me. That is the outlet I use for my outdoor electric grill. That is why you haven't seen many grilling pictures over the past four to six weeks or so, it was just inconvenient and annoying to have to tug my extension cord all the way into my living room outlet. They fixed a fan vent in my bathroom too, all within 30-45 minutes. This all made me very happy! We had a great time catching up. Once they fixed my outlet, it made me want to go to a store and buy so many steaks. I didn't, but probably will hit up Sussex Meat Packing next week I bet.

Saturday later morning, Awesome Girlfriend Megan came over with Dunkin Donuts, and I grilled us some hot dogs while toasting the buns. I'm probably the only person in America who had a Dunkin Donuts Cold Brew while wolfing down hot dogs for brunch, and I'm totally okay with that. I know, how lucky is Awesome Girlfriend Megan, right?

Later Saturday morning I received a message from my friend Kent who I met at Father John's Animal House years ago. GREAT News! My Adopt A Pet Of The Week Ling Ling has been ADOPTED! Ling Ling was a very tough sell, poor guy. A 14 year old doggy, whose owner passed away without anyone knowing. Ling Ling and his now late brother Aristotle were home alone without anyone to take care of them for two weeks. During my Pet Of the Week Facebook live video, I cried while asking for everyone's help in sharing the word on him. Talk about how amazing are our people! You helped Ling Ling get adopted in less than 24-30 hours after he was on my radio show! Unbelievable. I'm still pinching myself. The power of people and radio is really magical.

Early Saturday afternoon, time to take Meg to the pool. Our work bestie Shawn was able to help us get into the Crystal Springs Vista 180 pool. This infinity style pool has you overlooking The Wild Turkey Golf Course at Crystal Springs, and the mountains all the way out to Pennsylvania. Simply breathtaking views. It's our favorite pool. We love relaxing and just enjoying the breathtaking views.

Saturday night time to go out to dinner with our besties Jasen and Brendan. They had a hankering for Crystal Springs Springs Bistro. Awesome Girlfriend Megan and I joked when we pulled up, as we had just been nearby in the pool only a few hours earlier. One of the better sunsets we have had all summer, but the pictures were so tough to pull off. That's why we either had red dots on our shirts, or we had one or two of us shaded out. The struggles of trying to take good sunset pictures when you're in front of the sunset. I was reminded over the weekend, don't even try it unless you have a professional camera. We had great meals, I wolfed down all of the meats from the charcuterie option.

Sunday morning Meg and I had a quiet morning together which was nice. We then saddled up and headed over to The Cottage for our usual goodbye beer before she made her trek back to Hackettstown. We had fun opening up our favorite bar and seeing some of our friends. We can't wait for Sunday football there soon on the patio!

Sunday afternoon Jasen and Brendan texted me over for a cookout, and I watched this powerful movie while they were doing chores / entertaining. The movie came out in 2018 and is called Love, Simon. This movie stars Josh Duhamel and Jennifer Garner as parents of their son Simon, who is struggling with revealing that he is gay to everyone. Great movie, I highly recommend it.

Sunday night I went to sleep watching The NHL Playoffs starring the Boston Bruins woohoo. It was almost like normal, almost.

Overall we had a wonderful weekend. I hope you had a terrific weekend too. Time to start planning next weekend!
