New Jersey approved for additional $300 unemployment

Good news if you are still unemployed in New Jersey. Your additional $300 a week in unemployment benefits from the federal government is on it's way. FEMA added New Jersey to the list of approved states on Friday. The money is meant to partially replace the added $600 a week that went away after the "CARES" Act expired on July 31st. Since Congress cannot agree on additional Covid-19 relief. President Trump signed an executive order to use FEMA funds for the $300 per week. If you've been unemployed since August 1st your benefits will come in a lump sum. The additional payments will start in October.
