Mom trying to rescue her children drowns in Wildwood riptide

This week a 49 year old mother from Wernersville, Pennsylvania drowned in the riptide at the Beach in North Wildwood. She was on vacation with her family at the New Jersey Shore resort town. North Wildwood Fire Chief Dom McClain told NJ.COM ran into the ocean around 3 PM Tuesday afternoon when she saw her 3 children struggling in the water. She picked up her 8 and 10 year old sons in the breakers and carried them to a safe place on the beach. Then went back into the water to rescue her 19 year old daughter. Rescuers arrived while both the mom and daughter were struggling. They were able to save the 19 year old. The mom was found 150 yards out in the ocean and was unconscious. Life saving measures attempted by rescuers on the way to the hospital were unsuccessful.
