Additional $100 Million in CARES Act money going to New Jersey businesses

More help is on the way for struggling New Jersey businesses that still cannot fully reopen due to the state's Covid-19 restrictions. Governor Murphy announced yesterday $100 Million in state CARES Act money would be made available. The money will be distributed as follows. $70 Million to restaurants, mircobusinesses and other small businesses through Phase 3 of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program. $15 Million dollars will be distributed through the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Rental Assistance Program. $10 Million to help small business purchase personal protective equipment and $5 Million to support food banks. This money is from the CARES Act which passed last spring and was signed into law by President Trump back on March 27th.
