More Gen Z and Millennial families are stepping up to host Thanksgiving

A new survey says many more Gen Z and Millennial families will be having a Thanksgiving get together at their house this year. They're actually twice as likely to be hosting a Thanksgiving celebration compared to people who are 55 and older. According to credit analyst Matt Schultz younger generations feel less afraid of Covid-19. Which makes perfect sense given what we know. When younger members of the family host Thanksgiving it allows older family members who are more at risk from Covid-19 to stay home. I think there's one other factor in play here that's not included in the survey. After waiting for many years, many younger families have finally been able to purchase their own home. Which has given them the opportunity to start a new family tradition of their own. This is the case in my own family. Although gatherings are expected to be smaller hosts will be spending more this year. On average $475.00. I really like this trend. I've hosted and cooked for Thanksgiving for the past 30 years. I've earned the opportunity to be a guest!
