Bushmeat confiscated at Newark Liberty Airport

U.S. Customs agents seized about 9 pounds of "bushmeat" from a U.S. citizen traveling home from Ghana. So what is "bushmeat." Well, I guess it's an acquired taste. It's defined as under processed parts of various animals including bats, monkeys, rats and antelopes, Which have been smoked, dried and salted. Taking bushmeat into the United States is illegal because consuming it can make you very sick. It can spread and carry infectious diseases. Agents destroyed the wild meat immediately after they confiscated it.
