My Epic Holiday Weekend In Pictures

This weekend might not have been our most Epic Weekend In Pictures, but we still had fun all around Sussex County. This weekend is a very special weekend for me, as it is Awesome Girlfriend Megan's Birthday Weekend. Meg and I aren't big into birthdays. I used to loathe mine until 7 years ago when my birthday was my first ever day working here in New Jersey. Now my birthday is always the anniversary of me coming here to be a Program Director and afternoon host on WSUS. While I try pretty hard every year to make Awesome Girlfriend Megan happy on her birthday, this year she wanted to be more low key than typical years. Given the times that we're in, it's not like I can throw her a large in person birthday party anyway.

After our Epic Weekend In Pictures from this weekend, I'm going to include some throwback pictures of me and Awesome Girlfriend Megan that are very special to me.

This weekend we started off seeing some of our best friends for a chill night by the fireplace. It was just what the doctor ordered, a nice relaxing night by the fireplace with pizza and delicious craft beer. Success! Meg stuck to rose wine, she's been handling that better than beer lately.

After a quiet and uneventful Saturday morning, I took Meg out to lunch at The Cottage in Franklin. Meg had dumplings, and I had boneless buffalo tenders. Success! Meg then jumped back on the horse with a Candy Cane Martini, and I enjoyed a well poured Guinness. We had a great lunch, and kept it simple because we knew we had steak to look forward to for dinner.

Awesome Girlfriend Megan and I were psyched for playoff NFL football. One of my favorite things ever is cuddling with Meg on my couch, watching football on television. Playoff football made us very happy, especially since we have friends who had vested interests in these games, with my Patriots and Meg's Cowboys both being eliminated weeks ago.

We were happy to cheer on the Green Bay Packers for all of our Packer fan friends. We then went to see our besties Jasen and Brendan who just got themselves a new electric grill. Our burgers and steaks came out awesome on that grill. Meg and I were psyched. We then went home in time to watch the Buffalo vs Baltimore game, and relax watching it on my couch. We also enjoyed the new electric fireplace I purchased last weekend. Sometimes it gives off decent heat, sometimes it doesn't. Saturday night it was actually working okay. I joked with my parents last week "hot air always rises, unless it's from my electric fireplace heater."

Sunday it was time for our farewell beer at The Cottage in Franklin. I always hate Sundays when Meg has to go back to Hackettstown. We enjoyed our beer together, and then Meg left to go back to Hackettstown. I was feeling a little sad, fortunately more and more of our friends started showing up and they helped cheer me up a little. I was happy to be at home on my couch, in pajama pants, by 4:30 watching more playoff football. I was happy to cheer on Tom Brady and see them win their game. Even though Tom is no longer a Patriot, I'll always root for the guy who gave us 20 amazing years.

Monday I was able to see my friends at Trinity Rehab in Sparta. Jen was able to work on my injured caboose, and they gave me more electric stimulation therapy too. Yep, I'm getting my @$$ zapped these days. I know what you're thinking, again, how lucky is Awesome Girlfriend Megan?

Monday I was able to enjoy quality time with my wonderful friend, JG. My first couple of Martin Luther King Days we coincidentally ran into each other, for the last few years we've made it a small tradition to get together.

Overall, we had a wonderful weekend. I hope you had a great weekend too. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Below are some throwback pictures of me and Awesome Girlfriend Megan that mean a real lot to me.
