Lenape Valley Superintendent sues board after his contract was not renewed

Lenape Valley Regional Schools Superintendent Paul DiRupo is suing is board of education because he was told they were "going younger." DiRupo's contract runs through June of this year. He is 64 years old and has Multiple Sclerosis. His lawsuit names the board of education and specifically board president Richard Kuncken. It is Kuncken who allegedly told DiRupo his contract would not be renewed because the board was "going younger." DiRupo has been schools chief since 2013. He has worked for the district for 32 years. He is seeking money for lost income, pension contributions, pain, suffering and humiliation. The lawsuit also alleges Kuncken harassed the superintendent because he has M.S. The school board's attorney declined to comment on the lawsuit because it is "pending litigation."
