Defense Department grant of up to $2 Million going to SCCC

Sussex County Community College will be receiving up to $2 million from the U.S. Defense Department. The grant money is part of a $34 million project to improve the optics industry supply chain in the United States. SCCC will be part of a partnership between New York based American Center for Optics Manufacturing. The college plans to use the money to expand it's optics technology program. Part of the money will go into building a state of the art optics lab. SCCC is the first community college in he country to be accepted into the project.
