The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their way to Harlem on day two of their trip to NYC.

Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, were the special guests at PS 123 Mahalia Jackson Elementary School in Harlem on Friday (September 24). The couple also met with NYC Schools Chancellor Meisha Porter just before the school visit as the two tour the city ahead of the Global Citizens Live concert happening over the weekend.

Markle reportedly read her children's book The Bench to a class of second graders outside alongside Harry.

"I wrote this when we just had our little boy, and I haven't read it to any other kids but you!" Markle said, according to People.

The couple's trip to Harlem comes a day before their scheduled to speak at the Global Citizen Live concert. According to Elle, they will talk about vaccine equity as the COVID-10 pandemic continues to surge across the globe.

This is the first public appearances the two have made since welcoming their daughter, Lilibet Diana in June.

Meghan released The Bench just four days after giving birth to Lili, telling NPR the project was important to her.

"Growing up, I remember so much how it felt to not see yourself represented," Markle said at the time. "Any child or any family hopefully can open this book and see themselves in it, whether that means glasses or freckled or a different body shape or a different ethnicity or religion."
