New Jersey is not winning the war with spotted lanternfly

When you see a spotted lantern fly New Jersey agriculture and environmental officials say you're supposed to stomp it. Plenty of people have been doing just that. The invasive insects from Asia have no natural enemies in the U.S. As their population spreads and increases more and more trees and crops are getting damaged. One expert just told North Jersey dot Com all of our stomping just hasn't been enough. Spotted Lantern Flies are laying their egg masses this month. Lafayette College biology professor Dan Strombom says: "We're clearly not stopping them from spreading....We're at the point where we have to manage the population."
