My Epic Weekend In Pictures: Getting Ready For Stuff The Bus

This weekend might not have been my most heavily traveled weekend, but I still was able to have some fun while resting up for our big annual Stuff The Bus food drive next weekend. I had some great laughs with several of my wonderful friends, while meeting new ones too. Next weekend is one of the most important and rewarding events we do all year long, where with our Stuff The Bus food drive, everything we collect stays local. Every single town in Sussex County has families who are below the poverty line. What we collect goes a long way towards helping families have not just better Thanksgiving holiday meals, but much deeper into winter too. It's a great honor to help.

It's definitely our busy season here at the radio stations. Between our 102.3 WSUS flipping to all Christmas, and last week our sister station 103.7 NNJ doing such a great job with Vets Rock, we are in wall to wall nonstop adrenaline mode. Lots of hard work, many hours involved, and so freakin worth it.

We'll start my Epic Weekend In Pictures with Friday happy hour. It is always a great feeling when you can run into friends without even needing to plan it. Friday happy hour I had so much fun with a beer at The Irish Cottage, running into dear friends Danny Barr, Buckeye Paul (who's possibly a little miffed at me for my Patriots beating his Cleveland Browns,) Markie and Artie. It's amazing how many laughs we had while I was there just having a beer. Great times. Then it was off to Kite's to see my besties Steve and JG. It was our first Friday night there in a few weeks, but we definitely made up for lost time. It was a classic night of friends just busting on each other and laughing all night. The way life should be. Each of us basically took turns busting on each other and cracking each other up. At one point bestie Steve started with a strange outlier which resulted in JG accidentally spitting his drink while looking at my gorgeous sunset pictures from last week on my iPhone 12 Mini. We were able to dry it off with napkins very quickly, thank goodness.

Saturday morning time for some fun errands like laundry, and by laundry I mean dropping off a bag of my clothes for Wash and Fold on 94. With how small washers and dryers on Campus tend to be, it's just so much easier and quicker for me to drop off my clothes for Wash and Fold. Towels I do wash in my washer and dryer though. Even I have a tough time messing those up lol.

I'm still liking my hydration hack of getting Treinta Shaken Iced Green Teas. It's like 32 ounces of water and can go a long way in helping you stay hydrated for the weekend. During the week I typically drink almost a gallon of water per day, but on weekends even I forget sometimes.

My original goal of sweeping leaves off my deck ended up not happening. Was it the number one goal for me this past weekend? Well yes. However, the forecast for rain and 50-60mph wind gusts kept becoming more frequent and consistent. I'm very happy that I did NOT accomplish my original weekend goal. We got nailed by this storm pretty good. It was wild watching all of the thunder and lightning everywhere. While we are lucky to not have been impacted as much as some areas, Saturday afternoon was intense.

I had fun catching up at The Cottage with my friends Charlie and Ed, and meeting new friend Marcia. She got a kick out of getting to meet me in person. Everyone was so sweet and we were all enjoying each other's company while dodging the intense rain storm. I predicted it might be the storm that ends up leading to us drinking in the dark without power. Fortunately, that did not happen.

Saturday afternoon I was happy to head home, relax on my couch watching some college football. That didn't work out to plan so much. My 90s style DirecTV was out allllll Saturday afternoon and evening. I read the Patriots book Seth Wickersham's "It's Better To Be Feared," and was finally able to finish it. Loved this behind the scenes read. That and "The Dynasty," by Jeff Benedict are my two favorite books. I never really enjoyed reading fictional books, but love reading nonfictional books on my Patriots, for sure.

Sunday morning some more errands like picking up my clothes from wash and fold. I didn't sleep great, my cycles/patterns are still off from everything going on in my world the past year, but I can tell that I'm starting to get a little better. Since I didn't sleep all that great Saturday night, I tried to stay a little more low key Sunday. I saw my friend Lou and his awesome family while I was watching some of the Patriots and Tampa Bay games. I was happy to relax eventually on my couch and watch the Patriots win yay.

Sunday night I just stayed in and tried resting up. Not the most Epic end to the weekend, but still all good.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Time to start planning next weekend!
