My "Grandpa got a little break" Weekend in Pictures

My grand children have gone to their share of local fairs this summer. I love them all. Gracie and Christopher have been to the Orange County Fair, The New Jersey State Fair and this past Saturday they went to the Wayne County Fair. Kim wanted to stay overnight at her friend's house in Honesdale. So I decided to relax and catch up on some projects around the house while they were gone. When I woke up Saturday Morning the first thing I noticed was Maddie looking out the window for Kim and the children. Our dogs really miss us when we're gone.

On Saturday I did some maintenance work on the pool. Then picked some impressive tomatoes and made sauce with the rest. My last few cucumbers were harvested too. Saturday Night I saw my friend Jason had tagged me in a Facebook post so I took a look. Last week his son Travis won Miner's tickets on my show. His post said winning the baseball tickets "made his day." When I see posts like that I realize why I still enjoy what I do. Thank You Jason.

On Sunday after church I spent a couple of hours clearing invasive weeds from the Rose of Sharon Bush in my front yard. The bush has been there since I bought the house in 2002. The weeds had pretty much taken it over. I didn't even know there was a bush there until the roses started to bloom last week. It took a while to cut out the invasive weeds and shrubs with my reciprocating saw. I wasn't sure if anything would be left. When I was done one healthy section of the rose bush remained. It's not too impressive now but hopefully it will rebound nicely next year. I hope you enjoy my pictures below.
