Garden State Ranks Amongst Most Educated

According to the US census data, New Jersey is one of the most educated states in the country. The census reports that New Jersey ranks eighth in the nation for the number of residents with college degrees. Additionally, more than half of New Jersey’s residents have an associate’s degree or higher.

New Jersey has a high school graduation rate of 90%, which is one of the highest in the country.

Topping the list is Washington, DC with some 69% of adults holding a college degree but a high school graduation rate of only 74.9%.

New York ranks 12th in the nation for the number of residents with college degrees. The state has a total of 4,000 public schools and a high graduation rate of 83%.

Pennsylvania ranks 26th in the nation for the number of residents with college degrees. The state has a total of 3,000 public schools and a high graduation rate of 86%.

New Jersey has a strong educational system, with a total of 2,511 schools, including 593 operating school districts and 85 charter schools. The state also has a large number of teachers, with a total count of 116,698 full-time equivalent classroom teachers.
