Residents across New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Delaware reported seeing a fireball streak across the sky before dawn yesterday. The celestial event has sparked conversations and curiosity among people in at least ten communities in New Jersey.

The American Meteor Society received reports from members who described the fireball as a bright green streak, while others reported seeing a blue-colored flash. The fireball sighting comes a week before the annual Lyrid meteor shower, a celestial event that typically peaks in late April.

This fireball sighting is the latest in a series of unusual natural events in the region. Just last week, an earthquake was reported in New Jersey, followed by a rare total solar eclipse visible across New York state. These events have certainly made for an exciting time for sky-watchers and nature enthusiasts in the area.

While these events may seem unusual, they are all natural occurrences that can be explained by science. Fireballs, for instance, are caused by meteoroids burning up as they enter the Earth's atmosphere. The Lyrid meteor shower, on the other hand, is an annual event caused by the Earth passing through the debris left by the comet Thatcher.
