Skaters in East Stroudsburg are rallying to raise funds for much-needed repairs at the Dansbury Skatepark. The park, which has been in use for several years, has a large crack in the middle of its surface, along with broken and outdated obstacles. The skaters are prioritizing safety and are aiming to raise at least half a million dollars to repair the concrete and make improvements to the park.

The fundraising efforts are being led by Charlie Pruettipun, owner of the local Holy Stokes Skate Shop. Pruettipun told WBRE-TV, "It’s about $550,000 for 12,000 square feet and we’re pretty far off, but you know it’ll get there eventually." The revamped park would feature all cement surfaces with brand-new ramps and rails.

The fundraising campaign has been ongoing for about a year, and the organizers are hosting events to continue raising money. Pruettipun believes that the park is not just about the sport, but also about building morale, confidence, and lifetime friendships among the younger generation. The organizers hope to break ground by 2025, depending on the success of the fundraiser.
