Students in Ramsey will experience a phone-free environment as they return to school this week. The new policy requires students to store their phones and other electronic devices in special locked pouches during the school day. These pouches can only be unlocked in designated areas, such as the cafeteria. If parents need to contact their children, they must leave a message at the school office, according to NorthJersey.com.

Ramsey School District Superintendent Dr. Andrew Matteo believes that a phone-free school day will help students concentrate better on their studies. The special pouches will be distributed to students at the beginning of this week, and the policy will officially take effect on Thursday (January 9).
