The Green Bay Packers are reportedly exploring a potential trade centered around cornerback Jaire Alexander, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Wednesday (February 26).
Alexander, 28, would be the top available cornerback this offseason with two years and $37 million remaining on his current contract.
"Sources: The #Packers have had trade conversations centered around star CB Jaire Alexander and they are open to moving him for the right price. Alexander, still just 28 and a two-time Pro Bowler, is considered to be the most decorated CB available," Rapoport wrote on his X account.
Alexander's future in Green Bay has seemed uncertain since general manager Brian Gutekunst was noncommittal while addressing his status during the team's season-ending news conference on January 16.
"We'll see," Gutekunst told reporters when asked if Alexander would still be on the Packers' roster in 2025 via NFL.com. "We're working through that. He certainly could be. But we'll work through that as we go."
Alexander missed the final six games of the 2024 regular season and Wild Card Round loss to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles due to a PCL tear, which required a knee scope. The Louisville standout is a two-time Second-team All-Pro and two time Pro Bowl selection, both coming during the 2020 and 2022 seasons.
