Swimming pool covers on outside pools across the country will begin coming off today as it is National Pool Opening Day; this annual event is always on the last Saturday of April. In our tri-state area it's a little early to open the pool since our temperatures as of late have only reached the 50's and 60's. In about a month or so most pools will be open by then. If you have an outside pool you can still do a few things now to prepare to take the pool out of hibernation. Order pool supplies, see if the pool might need any repairs, and most important do a safety inspection of the pool and its surroundings. I especially like outside swimming more than inside swimming. It just feels more refreshing to me. Earlier this month I started my season of swimming(inside for now at my health and fitness club), but I can't wait for the club's outside pool to open around Memorial Day. In my free time I'll be there all summer long. Maybe I'll meet up with you.
