Today is the day that draws a lot of people to a very popular area event, the Sussex County Fireman's Association Inspection Day and Parade. This year the parade in its 99th year is in Franklin which to date makes 16 times the borough has hosted the parade, the most any fire department has hosted. The parade starts at 1 from Buckwheat Road at the fire department building to Evans Street to Main Street to Rutherford Avenue back to Buckwheat and to Parker Street to the Franklin Firemen's Memorial Park. There the hose laying contest will take place. Trophies are awarded for marching, apparatus, and hose laying competitions. It's perfect weather for a parade so come out and enjoy with family and friends.
