According to NJ.com, a Woodbridge school district secretary has been charged for stealing $6,000 that was raised to benefit their boys soccer team.
Police say 47-year-old Stacey Castro has been suspended from her job with the district, has been charged with theft, and released, pending a court hearing.
Castro had electronically transferred money from the Woodbridge Boys Soccer Club account into her own account. She "withdrew money from ATM's, or never deposited the cash," police say.
This investigation had begun when the school's Superintendent, Robert Zega, was told by other staff members that there were funds missing.
Public records show Castro has been a district employee since 2014.
