A Pennsylvania woman who was arrested on Memorial Day weekend and subsequently went viral has rejected a plea offer of fourth-degree assault. Instead, Emily Weinman is seeking to go through the pretrial intervention program which means her charges could get dismissed.
Over the holiday weekend the 20-year-old was approached by Wildwood police officers for having alcohol on the beach. When she refused give her name and started to walk away from the officers, they tried to arrest her.
During the violent altercation Weinman can be heard yelling "you're choking me" and videos from both onlookers and body cameras show her getting punched in the head by one of the cops.
Weinman was charged with aggravated assault and the officers were later cleared of any wrongdoing.
