The Center for Prevention and Counseling is sponsoring free training in Wantage on recognizing an opioid overdose and using the emergency nasal treatment Narcan. The training will take place at the Wantage Municipal building on Wednesday, August 15.
A grant from the New Jersey Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services is funding similar free training throughout the state.
Participants must pre-register and will not only learn how to use the emergency treatment but also receive a free Narcan kit.
