EA Sports Apologizes for Censoring Colin Kaepernick's Name

Gamers who got their hands on an early copy of Madden NFL 19 noticed that Big Sean's verse in "Big Bank" was censored for mentioning Colin Kaepernick. The company admitted to "messing up" and said they will include the reference again in an update to the game.

Big Sean and YG both turned to social media to express their displeasure about the unapproved edit. The backlash on social media prompted EA Sports to release a statement which read:

"We made an unfortunate mistake with our Madden NFL soundtrack. Members of our team misunderstood the fact that while we don't have rights to include Colin Kaepernick in the game, this doesn't affect soundtracks. We messed up, and the edit never should have happened. We will make it right, with an update to Madden NFL 19 on August 6 that will include the reference again. We meant no disrespect, and we apologize to Colin, to YG, and Big Sean, to the NFL, to all of their fans and to our players for this mistake"

Some people don't think the omission was an accident though because his name was taken out of Madden NFL 18 too.
