We're taught that getting eight hours of sleep each night is ideal but many people aren't getting close to that much. A new survey from Mattress Clarity shows that 24.7 percent of New Jersey residents get less than five hours of sleep each night.

This shouldn't come as a surprise because Americans work longer than anyone else in the industrialized world but it still shocked me. I love to sleep and get at least eight hours each night so these survey results have me worried for those of you who are only getting five hours.

A good night's sleep helps our bodies and minds recharge, so maybe it's time to take a step back and rethink your sleep schedule.
