A routine traffic stop in Franklin turned into a drug bust when an officer found 97 bags of heroin in the car. Pine Island resident Christopher Hillery was driving with two passengers on Sunday Aug. 19 when he was pulled over near Burger King.

Instead of being ticketed for motor vehicle infractions, Hillery is charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. His two passengers, Sussex resident Christopher Delgaudio and Wantage resident Mark Houghtaling, are also facing charges.

In addition to the heroin, police found a dozen bags of crack cocaine and hypodermic needles during the search.
