An Ogdensburg police sergeant is facing a charge of assault on a police officer stemming from a drunken incident that occurred last year. Joseph Sanfilippo allegedly threatened and assaulted his wife last November and when police arrived he pushed one officer and attempted to tackle another.
The 30-year-old was facing other charges, including terroristic threats and aggravated assault, but the prosecutor's office dismissed them. According to the New Jersey Herald, the 30-year-old "continues to be suspended without pay from the Ogdensburg Police Department."
