New Jersey won't feel the wrath of Hurricane Florence but other parts of the country are prepping for life-threatening storm surge and rainfall. It's expected to make landfall on Thursday and North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia look like they'll get hit the hardest.
President Donald Trump declared states of emergency for all three states and said that the federal government is "absolutely, totally prepared" for the storm. Additionally, each state has ordered mass evacuations, but some residents are choosing to wait it out instead of leaving.
