The latest customer satisfaction survey from J.D. Power ranks Newark Liberty International Airport last among mega airports in North America. It was not far behind Los Angeles International Airport and Chicago O'Hare International Airport.

The results are from surveys of over 40,000 passengers on six factors: terminal facilities; airport accessibility; security check; baggage claim; check-in/baggage check; and food, beverage and retail.

Along with airport rankings it found that an increase in passenger satisfaction with the security check process is due to better communication with TSA and that self-check in for is the reason behind check-in/baggage check being the highest-scoring component.
