Two Connecticut residents were charged with burglary and left for the August 11 break-in of the USS Ling. The couple reportedly swam to the World War II-era submarine and stole a lantern and a medical corps lieutenant's shoulder lapel.

Jon Stevens and Laura Palmese have been charged with burglary and theft.

The submarine, which also serves as a museum, has been the target of vandalism lately. On August 15, people opened the hatches and tried to sink the ship.
