Hopatcong senior citizens are riding in style thanks to a new upgrade. The 2004 bus that used to service the community has been replaced with a 2019 Elkhart Coach bus.
According to the New Jersey Herald, the old bus had transmission and engine problems so the town looked into purchasing a new one. The bus currently services about ten people and takes the senior citizens to nearby stores.
Hopatcong Mayor Michael Francis noted that the $59,000 purchase was well worth it.
"We bought one of the best buses available, and our seniors deserve no less."
