Forget about the proposed outright ban on marijuana in Sparta. Mayor Joshua Hertzberg has announced that changes will be made to the ordinance that was introduced on Tuesday, September 25.

According to the New Jersey Herald, Hertzberg is in favor of medicinal marijuana and the initial ordinance "was the most restrictive it could be." It prohibited both recreational and medical marijuana within all zones of the township and banned growing, testing, or selling the drug.

In addition to announcing the ordinance changes, Hertzberg encouraged the public can attend the October 9 hearing and make their opinions on the matter heard.
