Wantage is joining the long list of municipalities that oppose recreational marijuana as Governor Phil Murphy works to legalize it. The ordinance reportedly won't affect medicinal marijuana use but bans the manufacturing, sale, and distribution of the drug in town zones.

Just last week Sparta approved a resolution opposing recreational marijuana and initially they introduced an ordinance that banned all marijuana, both medicinal and recreational. The mayor later said they would be changing the ordinance as he is in favor of medicinal marijuana.

On the other hand, there is one Sussex County town in favor of recreational marijuana. According to the New Jersey Herald, Lafayette has approved a measure that would allow residents to "engage in the cultivation and sale of marijuana."
