It's not everyday that a film crew uses Sussex County as the backdrop for a movie. But that's precisely what happened last week at Lentini Farms in Newton as cast and crew filmed a scene for "Milkwater," an upcoming feature film starring Molly Bernard, Patrick Breen, Ava Eisenson, and Robin de Jesus.
Lentini Corn Maze reportedly serves as the backdrop for a "catalyst" scene in which the lead character divulges her intentions to become a surrogate for an older gay man. Farm employees and locals got to join in on the fun by serving as extras in the film for a scene at the farm's market.
The movie is expected to finish filming this month and hopefully start the film festival circuit in the late spring/early summer.
