The Department of Environmental Protection may not be doing anything about the alleged illegal dumping at Joseph Wallace's property on Silver Spruce Lane but they're going after Vernon Township for debris in the Department of Public Works' storage yard.

According to the New Jersey Herald, the yard contained about "12 stockpiles of asphalt and asphalt millings, mixed construction and demolition debris, and street sweepings" and the complaint that prompted the testing actually came from Wallace's lawyer.

Vernon Mayor Harry Shortway reportedly said that they've been working on cleaning the site up for the last two years and that it can't be cleaned overnight because "there's over 10 years of mess back there."
