High Point Regional High School sent students home early today, Thursday October 18, because the school nurse was absent and they couldn't find a substitute.
The following update was posted to the school's website:
Due to circumstances beyond our control, High Point is unable to provide nursing services the remainder of the day. Students and staff will be dismissed at 12:25pm, following block 4. All practices and games will proceed after school as scheduled, and all other students must take the 12:25 buses home today.
According to NJ.com, Superintendent Scott Ripley said there are students "who require medical services that are administered by a certified professional."
It is unknown why the nurse was absent.
