A bill to add the word veterans into the name of High Point State Park has advanced. It was unanimously passed by the Assembly Military and Veterans Affairs Committee on Thursday, October 18, and is headed to the full Assembly.
According to the New Jersey Herald, the bill is sponsored by Assemblymen Parker Space and Hal Wirths and if passed, the park will be renamed High Point Veterans' State Park.
The park monument was erected to honor veterans, so it's only fitting that the park's name includes them as well.
