What an amazing story! Two New Jersey State Troopers helped deliver a baby last week in Wantage. Congratulations to the new mother and great job Sergeant Michael Verheeck and Trooper Kyle Kraljevich! See a photo of all four below.

On Wednesday, October 17, Sergeant Michael Verheeck and Trooper Kyle Kraljevich, both of Troop "B" Sussex Station, helped deliver a baby in Wantage, N.J.

At approximately 2:58 a.m., the expecting mother woke up in labor and knew she was not going to make it to the hospital. Her friend dialed 9-1-1 and helped her while they waited for EMS. A short time later, Sgt. Verheeck and Tpr. Kraljevich arrived at the residence.

Within minutes of their arrival, the troopers rendered aid to the mother and delivered the baby. They wrapped the baby in blankets and made sure that he had a clear airway. Once paramedics arrived, the troopers assisted with getting mother and baby into the ambulance. They were then taken to Newton Medical Center.

This past weekend, Sgt. Verheeck and Tpr. Kraljevich stopped by the house to visit the mother and baby Hendrix. We are happy to report that mother and baby are both doing well!
