Sussex County may have seen one of the highest voter turnouts in its history on November 6. According to the county Board of Elections Administrator Marge McCabe, it may be the highest turnout in 12 years after 57% of eligible voters headed to the polls on Tuesday.
That number will increase once absentee ballots are counted. County Clerk Jeff Parrott told the New Jersey Herald that roughly 9,200 mail-in ballots were sent out this year and so far 6,600 were received as of 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
