Six years ago a panel of medical experts started grading hospitals in the United States and now a new report has New Jersey hospitals earning more A's than any other state in the country.
The biannual Leapfrog Safety scores included grades for 67 hospitals in the Garden State, with 38 of them getting A's. Participation in Leapfrog is voluntary so not every NJ hospital was evaluated.
Sussex County's own hospital, Newton Medical Center, scored well-above average with a B. The only hospital on the list to receive an F was East Orange General Hospital.
