New Trial Date for Doctor Accused of Punching 12 yr old Skier at Mt. Creek

The trial for a Morris County doctor that allegedly punched a 12-year-old at Mountain Creek in 2016 is expected to happen in March. Samuel Caruthers' trial has been delayed due to motions filed by his attorney, George Daggett. The attorney 

On February 14, 2016 Caruthers and his son were skiing in Vernon when the 12-year-old victim in the case "accidentally" skied into Caruthers' son. The 46-year-old father reportedly "acted in self-defense of his son" when he "stabbed" the 12-year-old with his ski pole and punched him in the face. 

Caruthers was indicted on charges that include aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. If convicted he could spend up to 22 years in prison.
