On November 25, a car smashed into the front window of Mavis Discount Tire store in Newton after the brakes failed. Ryan Stapel, an employee, was moving a Chevrolet Blazer off of a lift and parking it in front of the store on Sunday afternoon when the incident occurred.
Stapel reportedly sustained a minor injury but declined medical attention and no one else was injured. According to the New Jersey Herald, no charges have been filed by the police
