A Hampton man who admitted to sexually assaulting a minor multiple times was sentenced to a suspended sentence of four years in state prison on Friday, November 30. Sean Pechy pleaded guilty to third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and said his actions were "unacceptable."
He admitted to having sex with a then-15-year-old girl on and off for weeks and bringing her to a room at the Rolling Hills Motel in Wantage. Instead of facing jail time, Pechy will be on parole supervision for life and must register as a Megan's Law offender.
Police were informed of the situation by the girl's guidance counselor who was told about the "relationship" after it ended. The girl is reportedly in therapy and has a restraining order against the 22-year-old.
