Though deer and bear hunts tend to dominate the news in New Jersey, hunters harvest more than just those two animals. In fact, neither of those are even the number one animal hunted in the Garden State.

NJ.com took a look at statistics from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Fish and Wildlife and the U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife. Using that, they determined the top 5 animals harvested by hunters:

5. Deer - 48,545

4. American woodchuck - 49,849

3. Ducks - 59,400

2. Squirrel - 63,179

1. Pheasant - 100,616
