The former treasurer/secretary of the now-disbanded Swartswood Volunteer Fire Department admitted to stealing $75,000 from the group over several years.

Tami Richardson pleaded guilty to third-degree theft in exchange for 364 days in the Sussex County Jail and probation. Along with jail time, she will have to pay over $73,000 in restitution to the Board of Trustees.

The 53-year-old reportedly created five bank accounts under the fire department's name and used the department's debit card at stores like Home Depot, Weis Markets and Warehouse Clearance Center.

Her sentencing is scheduled for January 25.
