Andover Man Fined for Two Chickens on Property

An Andover resident will have to pay a $533 for keeping two chickens on his property. Meena Ganti and Barry Walsky own a pair of Buff Orpington hens that were reportedly adopted for their eggs because Ganti suffers from food allergies. However, the chickens have acted as emotional support pets for her.

Walsky was facing zoning violation charges for keeping the chickens on his property but has since relocated the animals. According to the New Jersey Herald, in exchange for pleading guilty to housing non-domestic animals on his land, Walsky is no longer facing a charge of keeping chickens on less than six acres of property.
